NAIA FINANCIAL AID - INFORMATION ABOUT SPORTS RECRUITING

Scholarships are offered in the following sports:

MEN: Baseball, Basketball, Cross Country, Football, Golf, Soccer, Swimming & Diving, Tennis, Track & field, Wrestling,

WOMEN: Basketball, Cross Country, Golf, Soccer, Softball, Swimming & Diving, Tennis, Track & Field, Volleyball.

There are many other sports on offer including, as an example, Men's Volleyball, that the NAIA does not sponsor at a national championship level.

The NAIA is dedicated to academic achievement along with athletic excellence. Also apparent is the organization's role as a trailblazer in providing equal opportunities for all student-athletes. Above all, there is an expectation of ethical behavior and a commitment to scholarship, sportsmanship and leadership.

The NAIA has over 300 member colleges and universities. These institutions view athletics as part of the overall educational process with the emphasis on "student" in the term student-athlete.

More than 90 percent of NAIA institutions offer athletic scholarships.

The NAIA has fewer restrictions on the contact a student athlete and coach can make. In the event the student athlete feels that the school or team is not the right fit, he or she can transfer to another NAIA institution and compete the next season without sitting out a year.

While NAIA rules hold strict academic requirements, the process of establishing eligibility is streamlined since there is no clearinghouse.

Whatever your standard or specialty, there is a college that needs you. There are over 600 colleges in the NCAA and NAIA systems offering sports scholarships so there are 1000?s of Athletic Scholarships out there in your sport, and many opportunities for young athletes.
