Adams State University was founded in 1923, the college grew from a teachers' college into a large liberal arts university. Adams State was recently designated the Regional Education Provider for southern Colorado. The College offers bachelor degrees in any of sixteen majors, with twenty eight minors and emphases.
The friendly community and close-knit campus creates a supportive environment that engenders success. The School considers itself a perfect fit for anyone who loves rock climbing, snowboarding, mountain biking -- or the idea that professors will know them by name.
Adams State College is a NCAA Division II school and member of the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference. Winners of forty three National Championship Team Titles, Adams State College Student-Athletes have earned more than one thousand three hundred All-America honors. The College sponsors fourteen intercollegiate sports (eight women's, six men's) Grizzly Athletics has a strong tradition of success with several awards, including the 1998-99 Sears Directors' Cup, one of the most prestigious awards in all intercollegiate athletics. National champion runner Zoila Gomez, Class of 2004, was named the NCAA Division II Female Athlete of the Year. |
