The University of Colorado was founded in 1876 in Boulder, this is the original campus of the University of Colorado. The College was built in the shadow of the Flatirons–the Boulder campus and is seen by many as one of the most beautiful college campuses in the country.

 

With its two hundred classic rural Italian-style buildings and complexes, Colorado University-Boulder has been ranked as one of America's "most architecturally successful campuses."

The institution is recognized as one of the best public universities in the USA. The Boulder campus has 5 colleges and 4 schools that offer  three thousand four hundred courses in approximately one hundred and fifty areas of study.

Student government, clubs, athletics, outdoor and indoor recreation, Greek life, film, exhibits, volunteer work, theatre, dance, planetarium shows and concerts are just some of the activities available to the university's students.

ATHLETICS

the College is a member of  the Big 12 Conference, CU's varsity, intercollegiate athletic teams compete against Iowa State, Kansas, Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, Kansas State, Missouri, Nebraska, Texas, Texas A&M, Baylor, and Texas Tech., and also compete against non-conference teams. Women and men compete in basketball, alpine and Nordic skiing, cross-country, golf, tennis, track and field; women also compete in volleyball and soccer, and men in football.
