Likewise, BU research efforts have been highly classified by the Carnegie Foundation for the Advancement of Teaching. Overall, Baylor University is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges.

“No pressure, no diamonds. We compete, we win. We are Baylor” — Baylor University has produced Big 12 Conference’s top overall student-athlete graduation rates at 71%. This is tied with the University of Texas for the top spot.
Baylor student-athletes continue their success in the classroom. As of this writing, 159 students were selected for the 2012-2013 Academic All-Big 12 teams, which include a record of 125 first-team honorees. The recognition marked BU’s 5th consecutive year of producing 100 or more overall Academic All-Big 12 honorees. Furthermore, records also show student-athletes who earned Big 12 Commissioner’s Honor Roll status, specifically 314 for the 2012 fall semester and 316 for the 2013 spring term. Likewise, it also produced at least one Capital One Academic All-American, selected by CoSIDA, where six student-athletes earned 2012-2013 honors.
Baylor University has won a combined 50 Big 12 Conference championships. Its all-time conference titles have come in eight sports: men’s tennis (18), women’s tennis (15), women’s basketball (9), baseball (3), soccer (2), softball (1), men’s golf (1) and equestrian (1). These recognitions show the success of the athletics department in helping the student-athletes shine both in athletics and academics.
Over the last decade, Baylor University has provided state-of-the-art facilities to satisfy the needs of athletes, coaches, supporters and friends. Facilities that are available within the main campus include the Ferrell Center and Lt. Jack Whetsel, the Floyd Casey Stadium, the Jr. Practice Facility, the Getterman Stadium, the Baylor Ballpark, the Hart-Patterson Track Complex, the Hurd Tennis Center, the Betty Lou Mays Soccer Field, the Hawkins Indoor Tennis Center, the Twin Rivers and Bailey Golf Center, the Carlile Equestrian Building, the Willis Equestrian Center, the Allison Indoor Practice Facility and the Simpson Center.

Academic Year 2011-2012 was recognized as the Baylor Bears’ “The Year of the Bear”. They achieved commendable athletic seasons in NCAA history, which include the following highlights: Robert Griffin III won the 2011 Heisman Memorial Trophy; 129 combined victories in four major sports set an NCAA record for a single season; A 10-3 football season record; A bowl-winning football team, an Elite Eight men’s basketball team, and a Final Four women’s basketball team; Women’s basketball recorded the nation’s first 40-win season (men’s or women’s program); Baseball was adjudged no. 4 National Seed in the NCAA Championship; Kim Mulkey was National Coach of the Year; Robert Griffin III (football) and Brittney Griner (women’s basketball) were National Players of the Year.
