Becker College Athletic Scholarships
Becker College, established in 1784, is a private post-secondary educational institution with two campuses in Worcester and Leicester, Massachusetts. There are approximately 1,900 students enrolled in associate, bachelor or accelerated degree programs. Becker College has a student to faculty ratio of 18:1. A total of 30 degree programs are offered at Becker College in animal studies, business, design, nursing, exercise science, biology, education, liberal arts, psychology, and criminal justice and legal studies. Regardless of the field of study, all students must fulfill the general education requirements, or a core curriculum. Becker College is known for its nursing program and its veterinary sciences program.
Athletics Department at Becker College
The athletics department at Becker College offers student-athletes an opportunity to engage in sports, gain invaluable team-building and leadership skills, and enrich their college experience. Student-athletes not only engage in varsity sports, but engage in academic performance enhancing programs such as tutoring as well as get involved in community service.
The athletic facilities at Becker College include the Leicester Gymnasium for basketball and volleyball and the Alumni Field for soccer and field hockey. Other varsity sport teams may go to athletic facilities that are located off-campus.
Athletic Programs at Becker College
Becker College offers varsity sports, intramural sports, and fitness classes for students of all athletic abilities. Varsity sports include men’s baseball, football, basketball, ice hockey, golf, lacrosse, soccer and tennis, as well as women’s equestrian, field hockey, lacrosse, soccer, basketball, softball, tennis and volleyball. For students who are not able to commit to varsity-level sports, intramural teams in dodgeball, basketball, bowling, sand volleyball and flag football are good options. For students who would like to keep fit without participating in team sports, fitness classes in Zumba, yoga and general workout routines are also offered.
Official Sports Team: Hawks
The Becker Hawks are members of the National Collegiate Athletic Association Division III. The Hawks participate in a number of athletic conferences: the New England Collegiate Conference for soccer, tennis, field hockey, golf, baseball, basketball, softball and volleyball; the Eastern Collegiate Football Conference for football; the ECAC Northeast for ice hockey; and the Great Northeast Athletic Conference for lacrosse. The Becker Hawks are supported by a cheerleading team.

Scholarships at Becker College include both merit awards and need-based grants. Merit scholarships are awarded automatically upon admission and are administered by the Backer College Office of Financial Aid. Other scholarship opportunities include the D. Llewellyn Evans Scholarship worth $1,000 to $4,000 and the George I. Alden Scholarship both of which take into account merit and need. Other scholarships include the Mother Prosser Opportunity Fund, the Robert and Marie Consy Scholarship, the George F and Sybil H. Fuller Scholarship, and the Ebenezer Crafts Scholarship. Need-based awards include the Gilbert Grant and the Travelli Scholarship.
