Bellevue College Athletic Scholarships
Bellevue College, founded in 1966, is an open admissions post-secondary educational institution. It is a public, community-based college located near Seattle in Bellevue, Washington and is part of the Washington Community and Technical Colleges system. Bellevue College has a student enrollment of approximately 37,000; it is one of the largest colleges in the state of Washington. Students at Bellevue College are able to complete their first two years of post-secondary education before transferring to a four-year institution. Certificate degrees, associate degrees, as well as professional-technical degrees and continuing education opportunities are available. Students may also enroll in online courses or take subjects through distance learning. Bellevue College also offers four bachelor’s degrees. Academic programs at Bellevue College are divided into five main areas of study including Health Sciences, the Education and Wellness Institute, Science, Arts and Humanities, the Institute for Business and Information Technology, and Social Sciences.
Athletics Department at Bellevue College
The athletics department at Bellevue College offers student-athletes a positive environment in which they can challenge themselves both physically and mentally, gaining the skills necessary for athletic and academic success. Varsity sports opportunities along with student-athlete support services are provided by the athletics department.
Athletic facilities at Bellevue College include the Courter Field for baseball, the Courter Family Athletic Pavilion and Gymnasium, a soccer field, as well as a student fitness center.
Athletic Programs at Bellevue College
Varsity sports include co-ed softball, volleyball and baseball. Men’s varsity sports include basketball, soccer and golf, while women’s sports include tennis, soccer, golf, and basketball. Intramural sports programs are offered in basketball, pickleball, weightlifting, volleyball, and aerobics. However, not all sports are offered on a continuous basis; rather, they are offered according to student demand. All intramural sports are open to students, staff and faculty, who are also encouraged to implement and plan the programs. Intramural sports are open-play and league competition style.
Official Sports Team: Bulldogs
The Bellevue College Bulldogs compete in the Northwest Athletic Association of Community Colleges. The Bellevue Bulldogs have produced a number of professional athletes who have continued to play their sport professionally. Former athletes now play in Major League Baseball for the Texas Rangers and the Los Angeles Dodgers.

Scholarships at Bellevue College are mostly from external sources and must be applied for not through the financial aid office, but through the organizations and companies offering the scholarships. Scholarships are need and merit based, as well as achievement scholarships, women’s opportunity awards, and foundation awards. Local scholarships are available include the Financial Aid for Education Award and the Kid’s Chance of Washington Scholarship from the Assistance League of Seattle, the Passport to College Scholarship, the Washington Scholarship for Childcare Professionals, and the Washington Women in Need Scholarship.
