Bethany Lutheran College Athletic Scholarships
The Bethany Lutheran College, founded in 1927 and located in Mankato, Minnesota, is a private, residential Christian College. It is affiliated with the Evangelical Lutheran Synod. Bethany Lutheran College offers academic programs in undergraduate study and pre-professional programs. There are 26 fields of undergraduate study including engineering, mathematics, business administration, theater, Spanish, sociology, communications, and more. There are also pre-professional programs in dentistry, law, medicine, engineering, pharmacy, seminary, veterinary medicine and physical therapy. In addition to academics, there are 14 student clubs including the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee and the Cross Terrain Sports Club. There are also many extracurricular activities in drama, speech, leadership, music and choir.

Young Gymnasium, a practice field, a softball field, tennis courts, a soccer field, a sports and fitness center equipped with an indoor track, weight room, racquetball courts and athletic training facilities, as well as outdoor athletic facilities.

Athletics programs at Bethany Lutheran College include men’s baseball, golf, cross country, soccer, tennis, basketball, and track and field, while women’s sports include golf, soccer, softball, basketball, cross country, track and field, tennis, and volleyball. Intramural sports are offered on a seasonal basis, with fall sports being tennis, racquetball, sand volleyball, basketball, flag football and wiffleball, and spring sports being kickball, dodgeball, racquetball, volleyball, slow-pitch softball, and 3-on-3 basketball.

The Bethany Lutheran College varsity sports teams are known collectively as the Vikings. They are members of the National Collegiate Athletic Association Division III and compete in the Upper Midwest Athletic Conference. The Vikings strive to achieve both athletic and academic success.

Competitive scholarships are all renewable for up to 4 years and include the Meyer Scholarship worth $94,000, the Ylvisaker Scholarship worth $48,000, the Presidential Scholarship worth $40,000, the Lutheran Scholarship worth $36,000, the Bethany Grant worth $30,000 and the Opportunity Grant worth $20,000. There are also talent or activity scholarships awarded in journalism, speech, visual arts, music and theater. These scholarships require an additional application and may be received in addition to an academic scholarship.
