Bethel University – Tennessee is a private, Christian university offering four year courses, established in 1842 and is located in McKenzie, Tennessee, USA. It has around 4,699 students and is affiliated with the Cumberland Presbyterian Church. Bethel was founded originally as Bethel Seminary in 1842 and became a college in 1847. The university got its present name in 2009. Bethel offers Bachelor of Arts, Bachelor of Science in Nursing, Bachelor of Science, Master of Arts, Master of Science and Master of Business Administration.

The Wildcats are sponsored by the athletics department and has a long history of success in their participation in the intercollegiate competitions. A tried and tested athletic training program is one of the ingredients of the school’s success. Employment of highly qualified athletic training staff is one of the tasks to achieve continuous success. The Wildcat Fitness Center is open 24 hours a day, all the days of the week, which provides modern Cardio equipment, free weights, dumbbells, York Barbell platform, circuit training and resistance training units. Training plans are also available for all sports.

Intercollegiate and intramural sports are active at Bethel. Intramurals are basketball, beach volleyball, flag football, dodge ball, tennis, coed soccer and softball. Bethel sponsors men’s and women’s teams. Men’s sports are track & field, triathlon, tennis, swimming, soccer, judo, in-line hockey, golf, football, cross country, bowling, basketball, bass fishing and baseball. The women’s team plays volleyball, triathlon, track & field which covers an indoor and outdoor category, tennis, swimming, softball, soccer, judo, golf, cross country, bowling and basketball. Coed teams are cheerleading, dance and shooting.
OFFICIAL SPORTS TEAM: Wildcats
The Wildcats are the official representative of Bethel University Tennessee, in all intercollegiate sports. The Wildcats are National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) Division I and competes in the Tran South Athletic Conference (TSAC) and the Southern States Athletic Conference except for track, football and bowling which are members of the Mid-South Conference. The Wildcats are also charter members of the Volunteer State Athletic Conference (VSAC). The Wildcats’ accomplishments include for men’s soccer, the 2008 NAIA national championship title and played four out of five years in the national tournament; 2011 to 2012 National champions, southeastern for in-line hockey; the First triple crown champion, Invitation champions, Match champions and the 2010 to 2011 Southern collegiate champions; 3 successive national tournament appearances in the 2010 to 2011 NAIA.
