Cabrillo College, founded in 1959, is a public community college located in Aptos, California. There are also Cabrillo College centers located in Watsonille, Santa Cruz and San Lorenzo Valley. It is a two-year institution with a student body of over 14,000. Students may work towards earning either a certificate or an associate’s degree in over 70 fields of study. To make education more accessible and convenient, distance education opportunities are also available. In addition, study abroad opportunities, internships and an Honor’s Transfer Program are also options. Many students at Cabrillo College transfer to nearby 4-year institutions, and most academic courses transfer to the University of California or the California State University system.

The athletics department at Cabrillo College is dedicated to providing its student-athletes with sports programs that encourage team-building, personal discipline, and healthy competition. Athletic and academic support are offered through the athletic department, ensuring that each student-athlete meets his or her fullest potential.
Athletic facilities at Cabrillo College include the Carl Conely Stadium for soccer and football, the Cabrillo College Gymnasium for basketball and volleyball, a swimming pool, tennis courts, a softball field and a baseball field.

Cabrillo College offers varsity sports for both men and women. Men’s sports include basketball, golf, soccer, water polo, and swimming, while women’s sports include basketball, volleyball, water polo, swimming, and soccer. Co-ed teams in baseball, football and softball are also among the varsity sports at Cabrillo College. Cabrillo college does not offer intramural sports or club sports; however, students may use the athletic facilities on campus.
Official Sports Team: Seahawks
The Cabrillo Seahawks are members of the California Community College Athletic Association and compete alongside 16 other colleges in the Coast Athletic Conference. The Seahawks’ mascot is Sammy the Seahawk.

The Cabrillo College Foundation awards $375,000 annually in scholarships to students who demonstrate financial need, academic achievement, or both. The Cabrillo Advancement Program offers scholarships for freshmen valued at $2,000 each. The program also awards 6 scholarships annually to second year students. There are also many endowed scholarships from private donors, many of which are memorial scholarships, mostly valued under $1,000 each. Eligibility requirements for each scholarship vary and may depend on the donor’s specifications, financial need, academic achievement, program of study, or enrollment. All students with good academic standing are encouraged to apply for scholarships through the Cabrillo College Foundation.
