Athletic Scholarships at Cabrini College

Cabrini College is a private Catholic institution located in Cabrini, Pennsylvania near Philadelphia. It was founded in 1957 by the Missionary Sisters of the Sacred Heart of Jesus with a focus on academic excellence, leadership and social justice. Cabrini College has a student body of approximately 3,200, with the average class size at 16 and a student to faculty ratio of only 14:1. Cabrini College has both undergraduate and graduate academic programs. The undergraduate programs include over 30 majors and 15 minors. The institution also has over 50 student clubs and honor societies each with an interest, academic or activity focus. Since 2006, Cabrini College has maintained national recognition for outstanding community service efforts.

Athletics Department at Cabrini College

The athletics department at Cabrini College offers varsity sports, intramural, club sports, fitness and wellness classes, and outdoor recreation. In addition to these extensive offerings, all student-athletes are ensured with adequate support services in both their academic study and their sport through tutoring services and athletic training.

The main athletic facility at Cabrini College is the Dixon center. It is the sports and recreation complex and is equipped with squash courts, a gymnasium, 3 basketball courts, a swimming pool, a dance and aerobics room, a fitness center and weight room, as well as an indoor track. Outdoors there is the Dixon field, tennis courts and a softball field.

Athletic Programs at Cabrini College

Varsity sports at Cabrini include men’s basketball, cross country, lacrosse, soccer, golf, swimming and tennis, and women’s cross country, lacrosse, basketball, soccer, softball, tennis, volleyball and swimming. Intramurals are offered on a seasonal basis and include battleship, flag football, floor hockey, kickball, soccer, softball, tennis and more. Club sports include cheerleading, dance, roller hockey and more. For students who enjoy the outdoors, recreational sports such as kayaking, horseback riding, paintball, hiking and ski trips are another option. In addition to these, group exercise classes, personal training, and a variety of other fitness programs are offered on a weekly basis.

Official Sports Team: Cavaliers

The Cavaliers’ 16 varsity teams are members of the National Collegiate Athletic Association and participate in the Colonial States Athletic Conference. The Cavaliers hold a total of 87 CSAC championships that were earned through hard work and dedication over the past 21 years. The men’s lacrosse team is the most successful teams of the Cavaliers, with 24 All-American titles and 13 consecutive CSAC championships since 2001. Other successful Cavalier teams include men’s and women’s soccer, men’s basketball, and women’s lacrosse. The Cavaliers have also won 23 CSAC President’s Cups.

Cabrini College students have extensive opportunities to apply for and receive scholarships and grants to help them make their college education more affordable. In fact, an astounding 98% of students at Cabrini receive some kind of financial aid. There are 46 listed endowed scholarships, all of which have varying requirements such as full-time status, academic program choice, financial need and academic achievement. Academic merit scholarships for first year students include the President’s Scholarship, the Provost’s Scholarship, the Dean’s Scholarship, the Founder’s Grant, and the Honor’s Scholarship. Need-based awards are limited to the Cabrini Grant and external scholarship opportunities. Incoming transfer students may apply for either the Achievement Scholarship or the Achievement Grant. All scholarships differ in value, ranging anywhere from a few hundred dollars to full tuition.
